The streets of West London come alive every August Bank Holiday weekend, this year falling on on the 24th, 25th and 26th of August, as London celebratesEurope's biggest street festival – the Notting Hill Carnival. Held annually since 1966 and attracting around 2.5 million people in the past years, this is The place to be!

He's got her in his sights... ...and if Nottingham's most famous son, Mr Robin Hood had by some mysterious chance made the acquaintance of Coventry's lovely Lady Godiva, we're sure that they would have gotten on, despite them living some 50 miles apart! They would almost certainly have had a shared passionate interest in the unfair taxation of the poor for a start! As we all now know Lady Godiva's naked protest against her husband's unfair taxation of their townsfolk proved very successful as indeed did Robin's band of Merry Men. We're not sure if a certain Maid Marian would have been quite as happy... Were you aware that the very same Lady Godiva gave rise to the now famous expression “A Peeping Tom” for a man having snuck a sly peek during her ride? Happily In central Coventry you can now observe the Lady on her horse without fear of censure! Their respective cities of Nottingham and Coventry are both located in the Midlands, in the heart of England, in an area which is positively laden with history, legends and beautiful scenery.
