Although we seem to have seen off the global recession for the immediate future, companies who have to relocate staff are still increasingly careful about budgets. In larger multi-nationals the procurement departments have stepped in to manage the supply chain and therefore the costs, but should budget always be the key factor with something as emotive as relocation?
The big industry buzz throughout 2014 seemed to be about how we can define serviced apartments, with organisations and trade bodies putting their own stamp on what they think the correct definition should be. In my latest article I look at the proposals and whether they've succeeded in defining a serviced apartment.
As I travel a lot between our home in France and the central London office, I often find myself staying in serviced apartments.
Normally I’m not that worried about where, as long as it’s near an underground station. On one of my recent visits however, I knew it was going to be a busy week and so I booked into the nearest location that I could find to the Shepherds Bush office – St James House, which is owned and managed by Concept Apartments.
A is for All inclusive. After a long flight, you’re all in. Quite literally. Dig into the welcome pack, get the kettle on, chill on the sofa. Why not get into a rip roaring read and get the low down on All of the Alphabet, or at the very least, loads and loads of alliteration!

You’d have to go a long way to find a more remarkable Brit than Eric “Winkle” Brown.
Extraordinary Eric, from Leith near Edinburgh, holds the world record for flying the most different aircraft (487), and for the most aircraft carrier landings (2407). He also made the very first carrier landing of a twin-engined plane AND the world's first carrier landing and take off of a jet powered plane.
Eric’s story fascinates me, because my own Dad launched jets from Royal Navy aircraft carriers, and when he later went on to get a pilots licence, we enjoyed many enjoyable (and sometimes scary) hours in the air with him!
