A More Regal Christmas In Bath!
Thursday December 6, 2012 by Alex Wood
If you’re planning a trip to beautiful Bath in the coming weeks you’ll have a ball!
Each year, the Abbey Churchyard area – a magical setting in the shadow of Bath Abbey and next to the Roman Baths, right in the centre of the stunning Georgian city’s shopping district, is transformed into a Christmas shoppers’ haven – Bath Christmas Market. The sound of choirs singing carols drifting through the market, colourful decorations brightening the streets and the aroma of mulled wine and cinnamon on the air all serve to create a magical atmosphere and will help to get you in the festive spirit! Hurry though it’s only on until the 9th of December.
You can find out more about how our friends across the pond celebrated the festive season with Christmas at Claverton at the American Museum in Britain. Leading up to the Holiday season each year the room settings within the main Museum collection are rearranged for an annual festive display and this years theme is Party in the Parlour!
If the shopping and sightseeing hasn’t worn you out then you can warm up with a bit of ice skating on the new Bath open air real ice rink. Don’t worry though as it’s open all through Christmas and the New Year so there’s no need to get your skates on!
If you're more of a culture vulture the City of Bath Bach Choir will bring the magic of Christmas alive in Bath with three consecutive nights of carols and Christmas music, performed at thecandlelit Pump Room on 19, 20 and 21 December 2012. This event has become a major highlight of the Christmas season in Bath. On three nights they perform a mixture of traditional and modern, serious and light-hearted Christmas carols.
